IPO's Friday 22nd November 2019

Updated: Feb 3

Tomorrow 26 more IPO's will be added to Football Index.

The full list can be found here

My overall stance on the IPO's coming onto the market is that they are coming on at relatively high prices and that unless you have the patience to wait and attempt to buy the most in demand IPO's just as they come onto the market (Before they surge in price) - they are largely worth ignoring.

Having said this, if you are interested in buying some of tomorrow's IPO's, below are the players which could be reasonable value at their IPO prices for the reasons below:

Brandon Williams

Brandon Williams

Team: Manchester United

Country: England

EURO 2020: No

European Tournament: Yes

Position: Defender (Left Back)

Age: 19

Price: £0.80 - £1.50

Consider buying at price: £0.80 - £1.30

Brandon Williams is probably the most well known IPO on the list given his recent Manchester United breakthrough and all of the media attention that comes with this.

Williams has been widely praised for his Manchester United performances and if he can really stand out in the left back spot he will have potential to earn media dividends. Luke Shaw is expected to return from injury later this month which could mean Williams would struggle to secure his spot at left back.

Overall, as Brandon Williams is a very young, English player at Manchester United who is also aggressive in his play he could possibly earn future media dividends and could be a strong long term hold if he does find his way into becoming a regular for Manchester United. Therefore, I would consider paying between £0.80 - £1.30

Fabio Silva

Fabio Silva

Team: Porto

Country: Portugal

EURO 2020: No

European Tournament: Yes (Currently 4th in the Europa League)

Position: Forward

Age: 17

Price: £1.40 - £2.20

Consider buying at price: £1.40 - £1.80

Fabio Silva is the most exciting talent on the list and therefore is being IPO'd at the highest price. I expect a lot of demand for Silva straight away and his price could really fly up.

Silva appears to have a lot of natural talent and has broken into the Porto first team this season at the age of 17. He is a fast striker who has very good ball control and is a quality finisher.

However, he has almost no access to currently earning dividends as is being IPO'd at a very high price and so I would only consider buying if you can get on before his inevitable price rise or if you are happy to hold long term. Otherwise, it would be better to stick to proven PB players who are less than the price Silva will be IPO'ing at.

Given the speculaton around Silva and how I imagine other traders will react, I would consider buying at between £1.40 - £1.80

Adria Pedrosa

Adria Pedrosa

Team: Espanyol

Country: Spain

EURO 2020: No

European Tournament: Yes

Position: Defender (Left Back)

Age: 21

Price: £0.60 - £1.20

Consider buying at price: £0.60 - £0.80

Pedrosa is a left back or left midfielder for Espanyol and also Spain Under 21's. Pedrosa has shown rapid speed, dribbling down the left wing from left back for Espanyol and also recently scored a very nice volley for Spain Under 21's over the International break.

Pedrosa does have a lot of potential, but, may struggle to hit high PB scores if Espanyol's poor form continues. Assuming Pedrosa is listed as a defender, he could possibly compete for PB in the future given his attacking nature and Espanyol will almost certainly be playing in the later stages of the Europa League.

Pedrosa could be a solid long term hold given his potential and so may be worth buying at between £0.60 - £0.80

Ander Barrenetxea

Ander Barrenetxea

Team: Real Sociedad

Country: Spain

EURO 2020: No

European Tournament: No

Position: Forward (Winger)

Age: 17

Price: £1.00 - £1.80

Consider buying at price: £1.00 - £1.40

Ander Barrenetxea has a lot of potential and his attacking style of play could suit the PB matrix once he starts getting more regular game time in the future.

Barrexetxea is quality at dribbling and close control with the ball and has already featured in a total of 13 La Liga games. He is yet to make a start for Real Sociedad this season, but, is a very promising talent and is also plays for Spain Under 19's.

Overall, I would consider buying Barrenextxea for £1.00 - £1.30 as he could be a strong long term hold.

Gaetano Castrovilli

Gaetano Castrovilli

Team: Fiorentina

Country: Italy

EURO 2020: Yes

European Tournament: No

Position: Midfielder (Central)

Age: 22

Price: £0.80 - £1.50

Consider buying at price: £0.80 - £1.10

Gaetano Castrovilli is having a very strong season for Fiorentina and has already scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 12 games from central midfield.

His performances have led to a call up to the Italy national side where he made his debut last week. Although, he has very strong competition for the central midfield role for Italy such as Jorginho, Verratti, Barella, Tonali and others.

Overall, Castrovilli may compete for match day dividends with some high PB scores given he can provide goals and assists from midfield and so I would consider buying at between £0.80 - £1.10

Jonathan David

Jonathan David

Team: K.A.A. Gent

Country: Canada

EURO 2020: No

European Tournament: No

Position: Forward

Age: 19

Price: £1.00 - £2.00

Consider buying at price: £1.00 - £1.30

Jonathan David has really showed his quality in the Belgian Pro League for the last two seasons.

Last season he scored 12 and assisted 4 times in 33 games whilst he has improved even further making a very strong start with 8 goals and 3 assists in his first 15 games. It is only a matter of time before a stronger team from a PB league attempts to sign David. He is a very clinical finisher. However, his game play does not really suit the PB matrix and so I think his potential will depend if he can score so many in a PB league.

Overall, I would consider buying at between £1 - £1.30

The final younger players that haven't quite made my list, but, I would consider buying if they IPO at the lowest end of the IPO price range provided are: Cody Gakpo, Andreas Skov Olsen and Ruben Vargas.

Gakpo is performing well for PSV, but, is outshone by the likes of Stengs and Boadu and so is not necessarily worth buying at what is a very high IPO price. Andreas Skov Olsen has a lot of potential at Bologna, but, again Mattias Svanberg (Also at Bologna) is currently ahead of him in progression and is cheaper than Skov Olsen's lowest IPO price. Finally Vargas has a lot of potential, but, is being IPO'd at too high a price given he he is limited at Augsburg. However, he may be one to consider closer to EURO 2020 as he could stand out for Switzerland.

Good luck if you do choose to buy any of tomorrow's IPO's!
