FIC 11 (Under 24/Under £2)

With the market's attention tightly focused on Jadon Sancho and European Gold Matchdays, it could a good time to look where others are not and start to consider a few longer term holds.

The FIC 11 (Under £2)

In this blog I will analyse 11 players which could increase considerably over the next 12 months.

The lower end of the market is full of opportunities and by picking the right players and taking advantage of wide spreads, we can be extremely profitable. In 12 months time I will be comparing the capital appreciation/dividends earned by this team, compared to Jadon Sancho (£15.10/£14.93).

The aim and my prediction is that over this 12 month period, the average capital apprecation/dividends earned by this team will beat that of Jadon Sancho's.

Furthermore, most of this team's spreads are so wide that they can currently be purchased at considerably less than their market prices.

All 11 players and their full player profiles can also be found on the Latest Highlighted Players page.

To avoid having to click into each of the different profiles, I have included their player desriptions below.

Gautier Larsonneur

Buy £0.61 Sell £0.59

Gautier Larsonneur is a goalkeeper for Brest. Larsonneur had a strong 2019-2020 season conceding only 34 goals in 27 games, keeping 7 clean sheets. Larsonneur has previously played 73 games in Ligue 2 and has successfully been able to make the step up to Ligue 1. Larsonneur has only played a total 15 PB eligible games, but has shown fairly strong PB potential and as a 23 year old, he could earn plenty of goalkeeper dividends over the course of his career.

Larsonneur's distribution is also fairly strong and he completed the third most passes (24) per 90 of all goalkeepers under 26 (out of 29 goalkeepers). Overall, Larsonneur has a strong chance of earning goalkeeper dividends throughout his career and also has a strong chance of making strong returns via In-Play Dividends.

Gautier Larsonneur was first mentioned on FIC at £0.48 in July 2020

Gautier Larsonneur IPO'd on 14/11/19 at £0.30. Larsonneur's price had increased to a peak of £0.42, but had settled at £0.37 and remained stagnant since. Once Goalkeeper dividends were introduced, Larsonneur's price started to grow quickly and has risen to a current price of £0.61.

Larsonneur has a very tight spread with an instant sell price of £0.59 reflecting the demand for Larsonneur. Despite, Larsonneur's recent, conisderable increase in price, he could still be strong vaue at his current market price. Larsonneur is very young for a goalkeeper and has shown strong PB potential and so could earn plenty of match day dividends over the course of his career. In the short term, Larsonneur will also benefit from the 5X IPD promotion and so could return a considerable amount of his price by keeping clean sheets.

Luca Pellegrini

Buy £0.84 Sell £0.62

Luca Pellegrini is a left back for Cagliari, on loan from Juventus. Pellegrini had a fairly successful 2019-2020 season at Cagliari with an impressive 5 assists in just 24 games. Pellegrini made a significant impact for Cagliari, particularly going forward. Although Pellegrini only managed to successfully complete a low 19.8% of his crosses, he was consistently an attracking threat attempting a very high 5.4 crosses per 90. Pellegrini also successfully completed 1.4 dribbles per 90 and made 4.9 passes into the penalty box per game.

With Pellegrini in the team, Cagliari won and also loss 33.3% of their games. Without Pellegrini in the side, Cagliari won just 21.4% of games and loss half of their games. Pellegrini also hit a fairly high PB score of 207 when he provided 2 assists against Sampdoria, but generally his PB scores were not so high, partly due to averaging only 29 passes per 90. Due to Pellegrini's strong attacking ability, he could have a better chance of earning match day dividends at a better side. As Pellegrini is on loan from Juventus and has also gained interest from Napoli - he could hit higher PB scores next season.

Luca Pellegrini was first highlighted on FIC at £0.74 in December 2019

Luca Pellegrini's price started the season at £0.56. Following strong performances, Pellegrini's price hit a peak of £0.95 in January 2020. However, during the Covid-19 dip, Pellegrini's price dropped to £0.75. Since then it has recovered slightly and currently sits at £0.84. Pellegrini's price has remained stagnant for around 4 weeks now and his wide spread suggests bids could be matched between his instant sell price of £0.62 and market price of £0.84. Pellegrini will return to Juventus at the end of August and he could be strong cover for Alex Sandro. However, he has stated he wants to play for a side where he gains regular game time and so Juventus may sell him this summer to another Serie A side. Pellegrini has gained interest from Napoli, but again he may struggle to gain regular game time if competing with Mario Rui. Overall, Pellegrini's attacking threat could suit the PB matrix well and if he is able to break into a strong Serie A side he could hit high PB scores and increase in price.

Jordan Torunarigha

Buy £0.66 Sell £0.36

Jordan Torunarigha is a center back for Hertha Berlin. Following the restart of the Bundesliga 2019-2020 season, Torunarigha was a stand out player for Hertha Berlin. Torunarigha is fast, strong at tackling and dominant at the back. Torunarigha is also very capable of driving out of defence with the ball, similarly to Dayot Upamecano. Torunarigha is also capable at left back and this may be what has helped Torunarigha become so comfortable on the ball which is demonstrated by him averaging 1.3 dribbles per 90 which is very high for a center back.

Torunarigha earned £0.04 in matchday dividends when he hit a 192 in a 3-0 win where he provided an impressive 2 key passes including an assist against Hoffenheim. Overall, Hertha Berlin look like they could compete for a top 5 finish next season given their drastic improvements, having spent heavily last January. Torunarigha has been an integral part of Hertha Berlin's improvement and it is likely he will continue to improve his PB scores and performances over time. What Torunarigha perhaps lacks is consistency and discipline, evident in him being sent off 5 times in his career at just the age of 22.

Jordan Torunarigha was first highlighted on FIC at £0.66 in June 2020

Jordan Torunarigha's price started the season at £0.45 and due to a lack of game time remained fairly stagnant up until January when he started to gain regular game time. Since playing regularly and scoring two times as well as assisting two times, his price has risen considerably and hit a peak price of £0.71. Torunarigha's strong performances are likely to gain interest from a range of sides and as a left footed center half, there are several strong Premier League teams who could be interested in such a strong center back.

Having already risen considerably in price in recent months, further growth in his price could be limited in the short term, but longer term transfer links could emerge leading to an increase in price. Torunarigha currently has a market price of £0.66 with an instant sell price of £0.36 and it is likely bids could be matched within this 45.4% spread. Due to the lack of Bundesliga games in the short term, there is little demand for Torunarigha and so it could currently be a favourable time to purchase Torunarigha at a considerable discount on his current market price. Overall, Torunarigha could be a strong longer term hold given the potential for him to improve his PB scores further and possibly gain transfer speculation.

Alessandro Bastoni

Buy £0.91 Sell £0.78

Alessandro Bastoni is a center back for Inter Milan. Bastoni has had a very strong season and Conte has picked him ahead of the experienced Diego Godin many times throughout the season. Bastoni is very quick on his feet and has strong defensive awareness which allows him to spot danger quickly. Bastoni is also strong in the air and particularly strong, for a center back, on the ball. Bastoni averages a high 60.6 passes per 90 and this has resulted in high base PB scores this season. Bastoni hit PB scores of 195 and 193 this season without a goal or assist and so he has certainly shown strong PB potential. Bastoni also recently hit another PB score of 195 to earn 10p in matchday dividends in a game where he made a perfectly weighted long ball up to Lukaku who finished and helped Bastoni claim an assist. Bastoni played less than 25 minutes in the two games where he did manage to score and so Bastoni's PB scores could be much higher in the future if he is able to score in a game where he does play a full 90 minutes. Bastoni is left-footed which makes him an even more sought after defender with a number of Premier League teams seeking left-footed center halves and so he also has an outside chance of earning media dividends if transfer links develop further in the future.

Alessandro Bastoni was first highlighted on FIC at £0.99 in February 2020

Alessandro Bastoni's price started the season at just £0.48. Following strong performances, Bastoni's price has increased a fair amount this season and hit a peak of £1.00 in January as transfer links emerged. Bastoni has been linked to Barcelona and Manchester City and has clearly gained the interest from strong possession playing teams due to his ability on the ball and quick feet to anticipate danger. As a center back, Bastoni's price ceiling is not so high and there is unlikely to be so much hype around him. However, at his current price he does appear fairly strong value given his ability on the ball and potential to develop further and occassionally earn match day dividends. Bastoni could rise in price if transfer links develop further in the future. Bastoni currently has a market price of £0.92 with an instant sell price of £0.78 showing there is still a lot of demand for Bastoni following the introduction of the Matching Engine. Bastoni has recently risen in price due to earning In-Play Dividends under the 5X promotion, but it is likely he could now be bought at a discount on his current market price via a matched bid. Bastoni could rise further in price in the short term due to Inter playing in the Europa League.

Nordi Mukiele

Buy £1.11 Sell £0.80

Nordi Mukiele is a right back for RB Leipzig. Mukiele is a versatile defender who can play at center back, right back or in right midfield. Mukiele played in a total of 25 Bundesliga games in the 2019-2020 season scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. Mukiele only started 21 games as he faces competition for the right back spot from Lukas Klostermann. Benjamin Henrich's arrival on loan from Monaco may mean Mukiele faces more competition in the 2020-2021 season. However, given Mukiele's ability he is likely to play the majority of games at right back and if he does not, it is likely he will move as he has gained interest from a number of strong sides.

Mukiele is particularly strong defensively averaging 2.7 tackles and 2.2 interceptions per 90. Mukiele also averages a respectable 45 passes per 90 and so he has been able to hit fairly high PB scores even without scoring/assisting including his two highest PB scores (Both over 200). Mukiele also likes to attack and averages a fairly high 1.2 shots per 90 as he makes strong runs to get in and around the 18-yard-box. Overall, Mukiele is still relatively young and given his overall ability he is likely to play for strong sides in the future and could occassionally hit PB scores high enough to earn match day dividends.

Nordi Mukiele was highlighted on FIC at £1.28 and having increased at first, has now dropped in price

Nordi Mukiele's price started the season at £0.53. Mukiele's price increased considerably at the start of the season to £0.90 by late August and continued to grow hitting a peak of £1.38 by January 2020. In the final 12 games of the season, Mukiele struggled to hit particularly high PB scores with his highest PB score being just 135 and his price subsequently fell. Mukiele currently has a market price of £1.11 with an instant sell price of £0.80. Mukiele has previously gained tenuous transfer links to Tottenham Hotspur, but it appears most likely that he will remain at RB leipzig. With a wide spread, it is likely that Mukiele could be purchased at a considerable discount on his current market price and longer term he could be a strong hold given his PB potential. Furthermore, in the short term, Mukiele could benefit from the IPD promotion and from playing for RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Maxime Lopez

Buy £0.72 Sell £0.49

Maxime Lopez is a central midfielder for Marseille. Maxime Lopez struggled for game time during the 2019-2020 season and has a fairly strong chance of leaving Marseille this summer, with a number of teams reportedly interested in signing him. Lopez has failed to hit a particularly high peak PB score during the 2019-2020 season and was unable to score any goals. However, he has shown strong PB potential as he is very strong at passing, averaging a high 62 passes per 90. At the start of the season, Lopez completed 105 passes and 4 key passes against Montpellier hitting a 182 in 1-1 draw where he did not score or assist. Furthermore, he is a creative player and averaged the most (7) passes into the final third per 90 of all Ligue 1 players under 24. If played regularly in another side, Lopez could be a high PB scoring player and possibly earn match day dividends. However, if he remains at Marseille he may continue to struggle for game and have a low chance of earning match day dividends.

Maxime Lopez was first highlighted on FIC at £0.74 in June 2020

Maxime Lopez's price started the season at £0.94. Due to a lack of game time, Lopez's price has dropped and his market price currently sits at £0.72. Lopez has a wide spread with an instant sell price of £0.49 and could be very strong value for a longer term hold if bought within this very wide spread via a matched bid. Lopez's chances of earning match day dividends whilst at Marseille appear fairly low, but it seems likely that Lopez will move to another side where he can get more regular game time and given his high base PB score, he could hit higher PB scores at another side if played regularly. Lopez has gained the interest of Sevilla in particular and this could be a very good move for Lopez. Lopez has already played 109 Ligue 1 games, but is only 22 and still has a lot of room for development and so could be a strong longer term hold.

Oscar Rodriguez

Buy £1.59 Sell £1.50

Oscar Rodriguez is an attacking midfielder for Real Madrid. Rodriguez had a very strong season for Leganes, on loan from Real Madrid, scoring 9 goals. Rodriguez is particularly strong at shooting, averaging 2.1 shots per game and he has scored a number of very impressive, long-range efforts this season. Rodriguez uses the knuckleball technique to put a lot of pace and dip on the ball and has demonstrated his ability on a number of occassions to score free-kicks using this technique. Rodriguez only averages 24 passes per game, but this may be due to playing for Leganes who only average 45.4% possession. At a strong side, it is likely Rodriguez would have more time on the ball and hit higher PB scores.

Rodriguez improved considerably throughout the season. This is evident in how between the start of the season and the end of 2019, his PB average was only 59. However, between 2020 and the end of the season, his PB average increased to 99. Overall, Rodriguez has the potential to score frequently and improve his PB scores further at a stronger side in the future and so could compete for match day dividends on a number of occassions throughout a given season.

Oscar Rodriguez has been highlighted on FIC 4 times, first at £0.82 and has increased every time since

Oscar Rodriguez's price started the season at just £0.67. Rodriguez's price had fluctuated up and down until December and since then his price has fairly consistently grown. Rodriguez's performances have improved throughout the season and he increased considerably towards the end of the La Liga season. Real Madrid have Asensio, Isco, Odegaard, Kubo and Reinier to choose from to play in the attacking midfield position next season and so it is likely Rodriguez will be sold this summer. Villareal are reportedly interested in signing Rodriguez to replace Santi Cazorla and this could be a great move for Rodriguez as he would benefit from playing for a stronger side and from playing in Europe. Overall, Rodriguez appears a strong hold at his current price given his quality and potential to improve further at a stronger side next season.

Victor Mollejo

Buy £0.83 Sell £0.67

Victor Mollejo is a winger for Deportivo La Coruna, on loan from Atletico Madrid. Mollejo joined Atletico Madrid's youth set up at the age of 9 and made his debut in La Liga at the age of 17. Deportivo La Coruna struggled in the second division of Spain during the 2019-2020 season, but Mollejo still managed to contribute with 6 goals and 4 assists playing a part in 24.3% of all La Coruna's goals. Mollejo is very versatile with the ability to play right wing, left wing, center forward or even at left back. Mollejo's rapid pace and ability to defend could make him a good match for Diego Simeone's defensively structured Atletico side. However, in the short term he appears likely to be sent on loan to another La Liga side to gain more experience and Getafe are reportedly close to signing Mollejo on loan.

Victor Mollejo was highlighted on FIC at £0.78 in December 2019

Victor Mollejo's price started the season at £0.77. Mollejo's price has fluctuated depending on various market trends throughout the season, but his price has never really taken off like other young players. Mollejo currently has a market price of £0.83 with an instant sell price of £0.67. Mollejo's wide spread suggests he could be purchased at a considerable discount on his current market price and he could be very strong value as a longer term hold if bought via a matched bid. Mollejo looks set to breakthrough in La Liga next season and although a move to Getafe may not result in so much attention - he is likely to gain useful experience and if he performs well he could return to Atletico Madrid. Overall, as a very young player who is at a relatively low price - Mollejo's potential upside currently appears greater than his downside and so he could be both a strong short and longer term hold.

Nikola Vlasic

Buy £1.21 Sell £0.99

Nikola Vlasic is an attacking midfielder for CSKA Moscow. Vlasic had a strong 2019-2020 season in the Russian Premier League with a total of 12 goals and 5 assists. Vlasic finished the season in particularly strong form with 5 goals and an assist in his final 6 games. Vlasic is often getting into dangerous positions either on or off the ball. Vlasic averages a high 2.4 dribbles and 3.4 shots per game. Vlasic is also very creative in attack averaging a very high 2.9 key passes per game and so Vlasic appears to suit the PB matrix very well. This is also proven by Vlasic's very high PB average of 130 and he has shown his ability to hit high peak PB scores such as his 237.

Although Vlasic currently plays for a Non-PB league he will have the opportunity to earn matchday dividends for Croatia at EURO 2021 and the 2022 World Cup. Furthermore, CSKA Moscow could play in the Champions League next season as they have qualified for the Champions League Third qualifying round.

Nikola Vlasic's price started the season at just £0.46. Vlasic's price grew considerably following strong Europa League performances and hit a peak of £1.57 in February due to the speculation of him moving to a PB league in the future. Vlasic's price has since dropped and currently sits at a market price of £1.21 with an instant sell price of £0.99. Despite the Russian Premier League returning this weekend, Vlasic may not rise in price in the short term due to his lack of opportunities to earn dividends. However, longer term, Vlasic could be a strong hold given the possibility of him standing out at EURO 2021 and subsequently earning transfer links. Vlasic's underyling stats show he suits the PB matrix very well and so if he was to gain a move to a PB league over the upcoming seasons - he could be a very strong hold. If Vlasic does remain in Russia over the upcoming seasons, Vlasic's price is likely to remain stagnant or even drop whilst traders seek players that are likely to earn dividends more often via playing in a PB league.

Musa Barrow

Buy £1.90 Sell £1.64

Musa Barrow is a left winger or center forward for Bologna, on loan from Atalanta. Barrow averages a very high 4.43 shots per 90 and has a 36.8% success rate of his shots on target. Barrow also averages 3.5 dribbles per 90 and has a 63.3% success rate and he is also creative in attack attempting 3.62 crosses and 2.27 key passes per 90. Barrow's crossing could improve further as he has a 19.3% success rate on his crosses. Overall, Barrow certainly suits the PB matrix very well and he has proven that he can hit very high PB scores by hitting scores of 293 and a 256. Barrow's future PB scores will also depend on which team he plays for ahead of the 2020-2021 season.

Musa Barrow's price started the season at £0.71. Barrow's price had remained relatively stagnant up until January when he moved to Bologna on loan from Atalanta. Barrow had struggled for game time at Atalanta, but has performed exceptionally well for Bologna with 9 goals and 3 assists in just 18 appearances. Barrow has shown his quality in Serie A and could possibly return to Atalanta and receive more game next season. However, it appears more likely that Bologna will permanently sign Barrow as they have the option to buy him for 13 million euros. In the short term, Barrow's spread could widen and his market price could slightly drop due to the Serie A season ending. Longer term, Barrow appears a strong hold given his ability to hit high PB scores and if he can perform as well as he has done in the second half of the 2019-2020 season in the future, it is likely that he will gain the attention of stronger sides. Overall, given Barrow's ability to hit high peak PB scores, he could be a strong hold especially if bought within his wide spread.

Rafael Leao

Buy £1.38 Sell £1.21

Rafael Leao is a forward for AC Milan. Leao is strong at dribbling, fast and showed his finishing ability last season in Ligue 1 with 8 goals in 24 games. Since signing for Milan in August 2019, Leao has failed to contribute to goals as much as he did last season. However, he has shown promise on occasion and hit a 179 without a goal or assist early in the 2019-2020 season. Leao averages an impressive 1.7 key passes per game and 3.6 dribbles per 90, but only 21 passes per 90. Leao has struggled to play consistently this season with the powerful presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic pushing him out of the side. Leao finished the 2019-2020 season in particularly strong form with an impressive 4 goals and an assist in his final 339 minutes played (1 goal contribition every 67.8 minutes). Leao also came very close to scoring in the last game of the season by hitting the middle of the post which resulted in a goal and also by hitting the crossbar with an overhead kick. Leao's prospects for earning match day dividends in the future appear very bright as he is likely to gain more game time in the future at Milan. Leao has also gained interest from a number of very strong sides around Europe.

Rafael Leao's price started the season at £1.31. Leao's price fluctuated throughout the season based on his amount of game time for Milan and then following strong performances, spiked upwards to a temporary peak price of £1.72. Leao has signed for Milan on a 5-year-contract and is likely to gain regular game time either at Milan or whichever side he moves to over the upcoming seasons. Leao currently has a market price of £1.38 and an instant sell price of £1.21. Leao has recently gained transfer speculation with both Juventus and Real Madrid reportedly interested in him and a move to either side could raise his profile even further and lead to an increase in price. However, Leao may struggle even more for game time at either side. Overall, Leao appears to have a relatively low price compared to other quality young players around Europe and this may be due to a lack of peak PB scores which has been caused by a lack of game time. Longer term Leao is likely to gain more game time and given his ability he is likely to hit high PB scores and increase further in price.

Overall, there are a number of opportunities in the below £2 market at the moment and there were plenty of other players who could have made it into this blog post. It will be very interesting to see how this 11 fare over the next 12 months and this blog may be worth returning to at various points throughout the season.
