Player Review

Yangel Herrera is a defensive midfielder for Granada, on loan from Manchester City. Herrera reads the game well and is particularly strong at tackling, averaging 3 tackles per 90. Herrera is very comfortable on the ball and is strong at making long passes. At Granada, Herrera only averages 35 passes per 90, but in a team that is more dominant in possession, it is likely Herrera would complete more in each game. Herrera is also strong in the air and can contribute in attack with his heading ability. However, Herrera is not particularly creative in the final third and only averages a very low 0.62 key passes and 0.31 attempted crosses per 90. Herrera's lack of creativity in attack has resulted in low PB scores, even when he has scored. For example, despite scoring two GWG's this season, Herrera has still failed to hit a PB score over 160 and as a defensive midfielder he is unlikely to score braces often. Therefore, Herrera appears very unlikely to hit PB scores high enough to earn match day dividends and even if he was to return to Manchester City, he would remain unlikely to hit the PB scores needed to earn dividends due to his underlying poor suitability to the PB matrix.

Price Analysis

Yangel Herrera's price has remained relatively stagnant over the last 12 months due to his low potential for earning dividends. Although Herrera has improved in this time, his recent goals only reinforce how unlikely he is to earn match day dividends as his PB scores have remained low. Herrera currently has a market price of £0.86 with an instant sell price of £0.57. Herrera does not appear strong value at his current market price given his low chances of earning match day dividends and even at his instant sell price, he does not appear a particularly attractive hold in the short term. Granada do have favourable upcoming fixtures and Herrera will benefit further from playing in the Europa League, but unless Herrera can contribute with more creativity in attack he does not appear great value.
