Peak PB Scores
Xaver Schlager is a central midfielder for Wolfsburg. In Schlager's first Bundesliga season (2019/2020) he has played a total of 25 games for Wolfsburg and although he has played fairly well, it has become clear to see that his style of play is very unsuited to the PB matrix. Schlager only averages 25.2 passes, 0.95 key passes and 0.76 crosses per 90 minutes played and this lack of passing and creativity on the ball has resulted in very low PB scores. Schlager is often paired up in central midfield with Maximilian Arnold and it is Arnold who is the more dominant, attacking midfielder. Arnold takes set-pieces and has a lot more possession, whilst Schlager is often left to being more responsible for the defensive duties in midfield. Schlager does average a fairly high 2.44 tackles per 90, but due to his lack of creativity he appears unlikely to earn match day dividends often. Overall, whilst playing in midfield with Arnold, Schlager is unlikely to earn match day dividends and he is unlikely to earn media dividends due to only arriving at Wolfsburg last summer. Schlager could also feature at EURO 2021 and the 2022 World Cup with Austria.
1 Year Price Graph
Xaver Schlager's price started the season £0.83. Schlager's price has fluctuated throughout the season and has risen to peaks of £1.10 and has fallen to lows of £0.80. Schlager's price has tended to fluctuate depending on his fitness (He struggled with an injury at the start of the season) and market trends such as the Europa League/EURO 2020. Schlager has been seen by many as a fairly safe hold at times due to being young and at a relatively low price which is perhaps why he has increased in price during certain trends. However, throughout the season it has become clear that Schlager's intrinsic value is not so strong as he does not suit the PB matrix very well and appears unlikely to earn match day dividends. Schlager currently has a market price of £0.85 with an instant sell price of £0.45. Schlager's very wide spread reflects the lack of demand for him now that the Bundesliga has recently ended. Overall, Schlager appears to be at a high price at his current market price given how low his PB scores have been, but his spread could tighten in the future due to him being young and playing regularly in the Bundesliga and also due to him being set to play at EURO 2021 for Austria.
