Player Review
Thiago Almada is an attacking midfielder for Velez Sarsfield in the Argentina Primera division. Almada has scored a number of outstanding long-range goals this season which has helped him gain the attention of a number of quality, European sides. Almada is a creative player with an impressive 1.95 through passes per 90 and a very high 3.13 progressive runs per 90. Almada is strong with the ball at his feet with an excellent range of passing ability, quality control when dribbling and also has strong vision to find intelligent passes. Overall, Almada's creativity as an attacking midfielder suggests he has the player characteristics which could suit the PB matrix very well. However, Almada is still very unproven and will need both a transfer to a PB league and to develop further over the upcoming seasons to have a chance of earning match day dividends regularly. Almada could earn media dividends over summer if he does secure a transfer to a strong Premier League side.

Price Analysis
Thiago Almada was added to Football Index on 3rd September at just £1.10 and immediately shot up to £1.87. Almada has had a strong season in the first division of Argentina, but has only recently started to rise considerably in price as transfer links have developed further. A range of strong PB league sides are reportedly battling to sign Almada including Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and AC Milan. The recent Manchester United links have led to Almada's most recent spike in price. It appears likely that Almada will be on the move to a PB league this season, but the direction of his price is likely to depend on which side he signs for. Overall, given Almada's recent spike in price and as Almada is still very unproven - he appears a risky hold. In the short term, Almada is likely to rise further if Manchester United transfer links persist, but if he signs for another side his price could drop. Longer term, he has many of the characteristics that suggest he could earn match day dividends and possibly be a strong hold, however, he is still very unproven making his high price appear relatively risky in comparison to proven, young players at similar prices.
