Ryan Sessegnon is a left back for Hoffenheim, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. Sessegnon broke through at Fulham at the age of just 16 and in the 2017/2018 season, Sessegnon scored 15 goals in 46 Championship games. Having helped Fulham achieve promotion to the Premier League, Sessegnon stayed at Fulham for 1 more season where his 2 goals and 6 assists could not help Fulham survive in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur then signed Sessegnon for £25 Million in 2019, but he failed to secure a spot in the starting 11. Sessegnon has rapid pace, strong ball control, quality dribbling ability and is a good finisher. Sessegnon is a versatile player and he can be deployed either as a winger, full back or even as a forward. It is likely that Sessegnon will be played as a left wing back as part of a 5 at the back for Hoffenheim which could suit Sessegnon well. Sessegnon has huge potential shown by his impressive goal scoring record at the age of just 17, but in recent seasons he has struggled with injuries and has failed to really cement a position at Tottenham. Sessegnon could hugely benefit from his move to Hoffenheim and if he is successful in the Bundesliga, he will have a much better chance of playing in the Premier League regularly next season. Furthermore, Sessegnon will benefit from playing in the Europa League with Hoffenheim.
1 Year Price Graph
Ryan Sessegnon's price started the 2019-2020 season at £2.12. Sessegnon's price dropped throughout last season due to a lack of game time and he currently has a market price of £1.31 with no instant sell price and bids can currently be placed at a minimum of £0.99 which may well get matched. Sessegnon's move to Hoffenheim makes him more valuable in the short term as he is much more likely to get regular game time at Hoffenheim than at Tottenham Hotspur. However, due to the current lack of sentiment throughout the market, this favourable transfer has not been reflected in his price. Sessegnon is still very young and has plenty of years to improve as a player and given the ability he has already shown at such a young age, he could turn out to be a very valuable hold with more regular game time. Overall, Sessegnon's move to Hoffenheim could lead to Sessegnon standing out in the Bundesliga and possibly increasing considerably in price. However, if he fails to breakthrough in the Bundesliga, his price is likely to remain relatively stagnant.
