Key FIC Player Rankings
Peak PB Scores
Riqui Puig is an attacking midfielder for Barcelona. Puig has stood out as one of the best attacking midfielders in Segunda Division B (Third division in Spain) for Barcelona B this season. Although Puig has only scored twice and made 3 assists, he ranks 1st in many statistics. Puig is a playmaker who is very strong on the ball, has great ball control, is excellent at passing and has great vision. Puig is very strong at dribbling and makes 6.29 progressive runs per 90, more than twice as many as any other player in the league. Puig also has the most deep completions (Passes into the box) in the league and his ability to drive forward with the ball and create chances suggests he could be a very strong player for earning match day dividends in the future, if he can improve his end-product. Puig has a combined expected goals/assists per 90 of just 0.18 which is relatively low and so he will need to become more dangerous around the opposition's goal to create and convert more chances. Overall, Puig has many of the player characteristics to suit the PB matrix well and suits Barcelona's style of play, however, he will need to improve his contribution towards goals to both get into the first team more regularly and hit high PB scores in the future.
1 Year Price Graph
Riqui Puig's price started the season at £1.34 and up until January 2020 had remained relatively stagnant. Quique Setién's arrival in January 2020 led to Puig rocketing up in price to a peak of £2.16 as speculation of him being provided more minutes grew and the 'FOMO' for many traders kicked in. Puig has only made substitute appearances for Barcelona so far, but did manage to play 71 minutes in the Copa Del Rey where he looked very good. Puig also performed well in his substitute appearance last night against Leganes and could get more chances towards the end of the season. Puig may struggle to play full games in the short term due to facing competition from Busquets, De Jong, Vidal, Arthur and Rakitic. However, longer term Puig's quality on the ball, dribbling and creativity could suit the PB matrix very well and so he could be a strong longer term hold.
