Player Review

Phil Foden is an attacking midfielder for Manchester City. Foden has only started a total of 5 PB eligible games this season, making the majority of his appearances from the bench. When Foden has played, he has performed very well and has certainly shown a lot of PB potential. Foden is particularly strong at dribbling, avergaing 3.8 dribbles per 90 with a very high 87.5% success rate. Foden is a very creative player and averages a very high 2.5 key passes per 90 and this could lead to many assists if he was to gain more regular game time. Foden's pace, accurate passing and creativity in attack makes him a dangerous attacking player and he very much suits Manchester City's style of play. Foden is expected to gain much more regular game time next season with the departure of David Silva and he could be both strong at earning match day dividends and possibly media dividends with the potential of an England debut.

Price Analysis

Phil Foden's price started the season at £3.83 and had remained relatively stagnant up until March 2020. Foden's price then rocketed following a very strong performances in the League Cup final against Aston Villa. Foden stood out in this game with his excellent dribbling ability and since then his price has continued to rise. Jadon Sancho's price has helped to drag up the price of other young, potentially world-class, English players. Foden's price has recently hit £6.09 as the speculation of him gaining regular game time next season grows. Foden's price is now already very much built up on the expectation that he will be a consistent starter for City next season with the departure of David Silva. In the short term, Foden appears relatively expensive given how unproven he is. However, he does appear to suit the PB matrix very well and could earn media dividends in the future as he is a young, attacking, English player. Longer term, Foden may be a strong hold given his quality and potential to be a stand out Premier League and England player.
