Player Review

Maximilian Arnold is a central midfielder for VFL Wolfsburg. Arnold had a particularly strong 2019-2020 season scoring 5 goals and providing a total of 12 assists in 44 games. Arnold is very creative in attack and takes many of Wolfsburg's set-pieces. Therefore, he completes a very high 2.14 key passes per 90, but only 29.2% of his 4.92 attempted crosses per 90 successfully met a teammate last season. Arnold will often shoot from range attempting 1.93 shots per 90, but only 25% hit the target. Averaging 44 passes per 90 whilst creating chances in attack, Arnold has a high base PB score and showed his ability to hit high peak PB scores a number of times last season. However, to compete more regularly for matchday dividends he would need to improve the accuracy of his shots and crosses further. Overall, Arnold is Wolfsburg's stand-out creative midfielder and has a fairly strong chance of earning matchday dividends on occassion in the future.

Price Analysis

Maximilian Arnold's price started the 2019-2020 season at just £0.64. Having hit high PB scores throughout the season Arnold's price hit a peak of £1.43 in January 2020, but has since dropped considerably and current sits at a market price of £1.09 with an instant sell price of £1.00. It is likely that Arnold could be purchased via a matched bid at a discount on his market price, but given his potential to hit high PB scores and earn match day divdiends - he already appears fairly strong value at his market price. If Team of The Month dividends had have been introduced from the start of the season, Arnold would have returned a very impressive 19% of his current market price in dividends throughout the 2019-2020 season. Dividends have since increased and so he could return a considerable amount of his price during the 2020-2021 season. Overall, Arnold's price is built up on his ability to earn match day dividends alone and so if Arnold's form was to drop or he was to lose set-pieces it is likely his price would drop. Furthermore, Wolfsburg will not take part in any European Tournaments in the upcoming season. However, at his current price he does appear strong value given the ability he showed throughout the 2019-2020 season.
