Peak PB Scores
Matheus Fernandes is a defensive midfielder for Barcelona. Fernandes played a total of 68 games for Botafogo in the first division of Brazil and was signed by Palmeiras for a reported fee of 4 Million Euros. Fernandes failed to play regularly at Palmeiras, but given his qualities he was bought by Barcelona for 7 Million Euros. Fernandes was sent out on loan to Real Valladolid, but failed to break into the side regularly. Fernandes has very strong ball control, quick feet and is strong at dribbling. Fernandes often gets into useful positions to receive the ball and will often make short passes, but Fernandes rarely ventures into the final third and infrequently creates opportunities in attack. Out of possession, Fernandes is strong at pressing and also making tackles. Overall, Fernandes' style of play does suit Barcelona, but does not suit the PB matrix. It is likely that Fernandes will be sent out on loan to another La Liga side, but if he is able to break into the Barcelona first team, it is likely that he would have a high PB average but a low peak PB score because he rarely contributes towards goals.
1 Year Price Graph
Matheus Fernandes' price started the season at £0.23. Fernandes' price remained stagnant up until December when Barcelona transfer links suddenly emerged. Fernandes' price quickly spiked up to a peak of £0.87 as the Barcelona transfer was confirmed. Since then Fernandes' price has slowly dropped and currently sits at a market price of £0.78 with an instant sell price of £0.42. Ferandes' very wide spread shows the current lack of demand for him. Although Fernandes is young and plays for a very strong team in Barcelona, he may struggle to earn dividends given his style of play. In the short term, Fernandes is unlikely to play regularly at Barcelona and may well be sent out on loan. Longer term, Fernandes could break into the Barcelona team and play regularly but he will need to gain confidence in attack and create more chances if he is to have a chance of earning matchday dividends. Overall, Fernandes appears overpriced at his current market price given his low chances of earning dividends, but he could be strong value longer term at his instant sell price. Once the order book system is implemented, there is a fair chance that his market price will fall, but his instant sell price may increase.
