Player Review

Mason Mount is an attacking midfielder for Chelsea. Mount has successfully made the step up under Frank Lampard from playing in the Championship to playing in the Premier League. Mount has hit promising PB scores and his highest PB score of 200 came in his last game, against Everton. Averaging 2.6 shots per 90, 1.7 key passes per 90 and 4.1 crosses per 90, Mount has solid stats to build upon as he continues to improve. Whilst at Chelsea, he may struggle to consistently play a full 90 minutes due to competing with a range of other strong midfielders and the arrival of Ziyech who can also play in attacking midfield as well as the return of Loftus-Cheek will not help Mount in getting enough minutes to hit high PB scores regularly. Mount is also an England international, but Grealish and Maddison's strong Premier League performances may not leave room for Mount to get much game time as an international either. Overall, Mount's performances this season have suggested he has strong PB potential, but due to competition for club and country - he could struggle for regular game time.

Price Analysis

In August 2019, Mount flew up in price from £2.40 up to a peak price of £4.00 as he scored two Premier League goals in his first two Premier League games. The Media attention, hype and speculation around Mount led to him becoming temporarily overpriced and his price continued to fall in the months that followed, all the way down to £2.53. Mount's price has now rebounded and although in the short term, it appears unlikely he will hit the temporary peak of £4.00 again - if he does have a strong end to the season, his price could rise considerably and his price ceiling is very high. Overall, the direction that Mount's price takes will depend very much on the amount of game time that he gets for Chelsea. Longer term, Mount looks a fairly strong hold with PB potential and as a young English player he has a strong chance of earning media dividends in the future too.
