Player Review

Martin Terrier is a winger for Rennes. Terrier failed to play full games regularly at Lyon and was signed by Rennes for £10.8 Million in July 2020. Terrier has shown glimpses of quality in recent seasons and scored 7 goals in 13 games for France's under 21's, but he has failed to hit high PB scores and he does not particularly suit the PB matrix. Last season, Terrier only completed 28.5 passes per 90 and only successfully completed 20% of his 1.49 attempted crosses per 90. Terrier will often pass in danger areas or attempt to cut inside and shoot. Therefore, Terrier's lack of goal contributions combined with his low amount of passes and crosses results in fairly low PB scores and he has a particularly low peak PB score of 143. Terrier's PB score may well improve with more regular game time at Rennes, but he will need to improve considerably to have a realistic chance of earning matchday dividends. Overall, Terrier appears unlikely to earn matchday dividends often in the future unless he can get more involved in games and make a bigger impact when he plays.

Price Analysis

Martin Terrier's price started the 2019-2020 season at £1.21. Terrier's price sharply dropped to £0.84 during the strong trend toward high PB scoring players and remained fairly stagnant up until August 2020 when he rose up to £1.09 as he provided an assist during the 5X IPD promotion. Terrier currently has a market price of £0.85 with an instant sell price of £0.62. Given Terrier's poor PB potential even with Rennes having a strong start to the season, he does not appear a particularly valuable hold. Terrier does have potential to improve especially in Raphinha's abscence, but given how low his past PB scores are, he will have to improve a considerable amount to have a real chance of returning matchday dividends. If Terrier is unable to improve much over the upcoming seasons, he may struggle to ever earn matchday dividends. Overall, Terrier does not stand out as a particularly valuable hold at the moment.
