Player Review
Jurgen Ekkelenkamp is an attacking midfielder for Ajax. Ekkelenkamp has excellent ball control and is particularly composed in front of goal which helped him score 11 goals in 21 games for Ajax's youth side last season. Most of Ekkelenkamp's goals came from around the penalty area and this is because he frequently makes intelligent runs where he manages to drift into the box and then once an opportunity arises within the box he is fast to react and a strong finisher. When Ekkelenkamp is not scoring, he is often dropping into pockets of space where he can connect and link-up with teammates to build attacks. Ekkelenkamp has performed well in pre-season ahead of the 2020-2021 season for Ajax with 3 goals and 1 assist so far and with the departures of Hakim Ziyech and Donny van de Beek, Ekkelenkamp may gain more chances for Ajax's first team next season. Overall, Ekkelenkamp's chances of earning dividends may be limited in the short term due to a lack of game time and due to playing in a Non-PB league, but longer term his ability to score frequently could lead to high peak PB scores.

Price Analysis
Jurgen Ekkelenkamp's price started the 2019-2020 season at £0.82. Ekkelenkamp's price rose considerably throughout the season and currently sits at a market price of £1.41 with an instant sell price of £1.26. Ekkelenkamp's recent strong performances in pre-season have led to an increase in demand for Ekkelenkamp and he is likely to play more frequently for Ajax throughout the 2020-2021 season. Ekkelenkamp's ability to drift into the box and score frequently is similar to that of Van de Beek's and so Ekkelenkamp could be a direct replacement. Overall, Ekkelenkamp is still very unproven having only featured in 16 first-team games but he is certainly an interesting prospect and could be the next quality player to come out of Ajax's academy. In the short term, Ekkelenkamp may not rise very much in price due to his lack of opportunities to earn dividends, but longer term he could be a stronger hold.
