Player Review

Jude Bellingham is a central midfielder for Borussia Dortmund. Bellingham signed for Dortmund for £20.70 million in July 2020. Bellingham is a box to box midfielder with a range of skills. Bellingham is particularly strong at passing and reads the game very well. Bellingham has already averaged a very high 77 passes per 90 whilst playing for Borussia Dortmund and Bellingham's ability to retain possession could lead to high PB scores in the future. Furthermore, Bellingham is very strong at dribbling and successfully completed 60.31% of his 4.45 dribbles per game last season. Bellingham has long legs and his defensive positioning is very strong, which has helped contribute to him completing a high average of 3.54 tackles per 90. Bellingham has been compared to Steven Gerrard and although he certainly has the stamina and dribbling ability, he is yet to show such quality in his shooting or passing just yet. Bellingham undoubtedly has huge potential, but he will need to be much more creative in attack to have a strong chance of earning match day dividends often in the future. At the age of 17, Bellingham looks set for a very strong career and in the short term he appears fairy likely to earn media dividends.

Price Analysis

Jude Bellingham IPO'd at £1.95 and quickly rose to around £3. In the weeks and months that followed, Bellingham's price continued to grow and hit £4.76 in March 2020. In September 2020, Bellingham's price hit a new peak of £4.86 following his strong performances at his new side - Borussia Dortmund. Bellingham has not started games recently as he is competing for a central midfield role with a number of players including Axel Witsel, Mahmoud Dahoud and Thomas Delaney, not to even mention the more attacking midfield players. Overall, it will be difficult for Bellingham to secure a starting position at Dortmund this season, but he will certainly get a fair amount of minutes and he could earn media dividends due to his age and being an up and coming English player. Bellingham currently has a market price of £3.98 and an instant sell price of £3.28. Overall, Bellingham does appear a valuable, longer term hold at his current instant sell price. However, given the current state of the market - there are arguably more proven, less risky and more valuable players elsewhere in the market.
