Player Review

Hannes Wolf is an attacking midfielder for Borussia Monchengladbach, on loan from RB Leipzig. Wolf won the EUFA Youth League in the 2016/2017 season with RB Salzburg's U19 squad scoring 7 times and providing 5 assists in 7 games. The following season, he was promoted to RB Salzburg's first team and throughout the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 season, Wolf provided an impressive total of 23 goals and 20 assists in 85 games - providing a goal contribution once every 128 minutes. Wolf has excellent vision, dribbling ability and is a strong finisher and so if he played regularly in a PB league he could hit high PB scores. Wolf moved to RB Leipzig for the 2019/2020 season, but fractured his leg and it took time for him to recover. Wolf then had to compete for an attacking midfield role with quality players such as Marcel Sabitzer, Christopher Nkunku, Dani Olmo and Emil Forsberg. Therefore, Wolf only managed to play a meagre 53 Bundesliga minutes. Wolf's loan move to Gladbach ahead of the 2020/2021 season could be beneficial as Wolf's calmness, creativity and vision could combine well with the pace, power and intelligent runs offered by Plea, Thuram and Embolo. Overall, Wolf's success in terms of earning matchday dividends will largely depend on the amount of gametime he gets at Gladbach, but he does appear to suit the PB matrix well and so could hit high PB scores if he can cement a place in the Gladbach starting 11.

Price Analysis

Hannes Wolf's price started the 2019/2020 season at £0.90. Despite only playing 53 minutes last season, Wolf's price has increased to a current market price of £1.18 with an instant sell price of £1.10. Wolf's price has risen due to speculation that he will perform well at Gladbach and if he does, it is likely his price will rise much further. Wolf will have to compete for an attacking midfield role with a number of strong players, but with Gladbach also performing in the Champions League - it is likely he will gain some fair chances to show his ability. Overall, Wolf appears a fairly strong hold given his potential and high ceiling if he can perform well. However, his spread may widen if he fails to play regularly.
