Player Review
Cody Gakpo is a winger for PSV. Gakpo has had a very strong season and had been in very good form prior to the cancellation of Eredivisie with 3 goals and an assist in his last 4 games. Although Gakpo has only played in 2 PB eligible games which we can not infer much from, it does appear his style of play suits the PB matrix very well. Gakpo is strong at dribbling, crossing, key passes and finishing. Gakpo has scored a number of very impressive goals this season including long range efforts and goals where he has dribbled past many opponents and found a way through to finish calmly when one on one with the goalkeeper. Gakpo has a total of 7 goals and 6 assists in the Eredivisie this season having only played 1458 minutes, therefore contributing towards a goal once every 112 minutes which is very impressive. Overall, Gakpo looks a very exciting prospect, but is still fairly unproven having featured in only 33 Eredivise games (Many as substitute appearances) at the age of 21.

Price Analysis
Cody Gakpo IPO'd on 22nd November at £1.20 and following his IPO remained between £1.20-£1.40 until February 2020. It was during Februray that Gakpo's performances caught the attention of many traders with him rising considerably this month and he had continued to grow in price as transfer links started to emerge, most noticeably to Newcastle United. Since hitting a peak price of £1.77 in April, the excitement around Gakpo has worn off and with the Eredivise being cancelled, his price may not increase further unless transfer links resurface. Overall, in the short term Gakpo may not be such a strong hold as he has little to no access to earning match day dividends. Longer term, Gakpo does look a very promising talent, but is already relatively expensive given what he has achieved so far in his career in the Eredivisie. Receny bias may have had a significant impact on his price as although he has improved considerably this season, over the course of his career he is still fairly unproven and is now at prices similar to much more proven players at similar ages already. If Gakpo continues to improve then it is likely his price will rise, but for now there may be better options in the market elsewhere.
