Ademola Lookman is a winger for RB Leipzig. Lookman joined Leipzig in July 2019 for a fee of 18 Million Euros on a contract until 2024. When on loan at RB Leipzig in the 2017/2018 season, Lookman contributed with 5 goals and 4 assists in the Bundesliga hitting some very impressive PB scores. However, after infrequent game time last season at Everton, Lookman has failed to get regular game time again this season at RB Leipzig. Lookman has huge potential to rise in price after a few strong performances given he is an England Youth International, playing for a very strong side. Once football returns, fixtures are likely to be crammed over a shorter period of time and so we may see teams rotating more. With RB Leipzig also in the Champions League, Lookman may get an opportunity to start a few games towards the end of the season and so he could be a good short term hold.

Lookman just had an interesting 30 minutes against Hertha Berlin. For the first 20 minutes that he was on the pitch, he looked very sharp. One great turn, a few explosive dribbles and he also took a corner so something to look out for. But, then he made a very clumsy tackle on Cunha results in a HB penalty.

I think his brief performance epitomised him as a player at the moment. Full of potential, but needs to add consistency to his game.

I think long term he’ll improve and do well, but it might be quite a wait.

Yes Daniel, great shout that does make him a less favourable hold now. I imagine he had probably been hoping to play for England, but has maybe more recently decided to apply to play for Nigeria as he has a much better chance of international football if he is to play for Nigeria than for England. I found this: “I’ve not changed my mind [on wanting to represent England],” he said, “but I’m open, and it’s good to have different opportunities.”

Nigeria Technical Assistant Tunde Adelakun also confirmed that an application for a nationality switch had been registered.

I’m sure I’ve seen that Lookman has now declared for Nigeria so that would surely make him a less attractive hold imo?
